Job Summary

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified sessional lecturer to teach the course STSS Personal and Academic Success Strategies in Fall 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and creating a supportive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver course materials and lectures that align with the course objectives and outcomes.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to promote academic success.
  • Engage with students, respond to their needs, and foster a sense of community in the classroom.
  • Stay current with developments in the field and incorporate relevant research and best practices into the course.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and assessment strategies.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Applicants must have a degree in a relevant field, including a number of courses in the topic, and a teaching certificate, instructor's diploma, or 5 years of teaching experience with evidence of engagement in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • Experience teaching students with diverse educational, social, and economic backgrounds is essential.
  • Skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect are preferred.
  • Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods is also preferred.
