About the Role

As a Clinical Research Specialist in Health Policy at The University of British Columbia, you will play a vital role in driving research excellence and advancing knowledge in the field of pharmacoepidemiology. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Planning and conducting research projects related to adverse effects of drug use and health services utilization and health outcomes using large administrative databases.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to design, develop, and implement research protocols, data analysis plans, and manuscript writing.
  • Providing expert statistical analysis and interpretation of data using SAS, R, SQL, and other relevant software packages.
  • Maintaining effective communication with research team members, stakeholders, and external collaborators to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (health policy, health services research, statistics, or related field) and a minimum three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven expertise in data management and programming, including proficiency in SAS, R, and SQL.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to design, complete, and publish research projects in pharmacoepidemiology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, external collaborators, and stakeholders.
About the Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $85,000 CAD, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This figure reflects the expected compensation for a senior-level researcher with a strong background in health policy and data analysis.
