Maintenance Millwright

This is an exciting opportunity to join Canfor as a Maintenance/Certified Millwright, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our sawmill equipment. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and installations to maximize equipment uptime, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on mill machinery, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, and chains.
- Inspect equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions, and implement safe and reliable fixes to keep the mill running.
- Manage time effectively by assessing situations and determining the best course of action to assemble, move, replace, or dismantle machinery.
- Apply knowledge, skills, and experience to troubleshoot issues, boost equipment reliability, and implement safe and reliable fixes.
- Have a high degree of attention to detail to identify and request relevant parts to complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Be accountable for assisting in a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors on site.
- Red Seal Certification is considered an asset but not required.
- Physical capability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- High degree of urgency.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
- Knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process is an asset, as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability.
