About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Millwright to join our team at Canfor. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our sawmill equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on sawmill equipment, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, and mechanical systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions, and implement preventative measures to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshooting: Use your technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues, and implement safe and reliable fixes to keep the mill running.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance team members to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Safety and Quality: Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others, and maintain high standards of quality in your work.
Requirements
  • Red Seal Certification: An asset but not required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Urgency and Time Management: High degree of urgency and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Excellent teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of the lumber or industrial manufacturing process is an asset, as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability.
