About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Millwright to join our team at Canfor's Fox Creek manufacturing facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our sawmill equipment, including pumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers, and chains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Preventative and Predictive Maintenance: Inspect machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Manage Time Effectively: Assess situations carefully and determine when to assemble, move, replace, or dismantle machinery, prioritizing tasks to meet production demands.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Apply knowledge, skills, and experience to identify and resolve complex mechanical problems, implementing safe and reliable fixes to maintain equipment reliability.
  • Attention to Detail: Identify and request relevant parts to complete repairs in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Accountability: Assist in maintaining a safe work environment for coworkers, customers, and visitors on site, adhering to company safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • Red Seal Certification (considered an asset but not required)
  • Physical Capability: Lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • High Degree of Urgency: Respond promptly to equipment issues and prioritize tasks to meet production demands
  • Excellent Teamwork Skills: Collaborate effectively with coworkers to achieve common goals
  • Knowledge of Lumber or Industrial Manufacturing Process: An asset, as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability
