Job Title: Woodworking Machine Operator

M and J Woodcrafts Ltd. is seeking a skilled Woodworking Machine Operator to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and physically demanding individual to operate computerized and manual woodworking machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating machines to fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate computerized or manual woodworking machines to fabricate or repair wooden parts.
  • Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products.
  • Operate gluing machines to glue pieces of wood together or press and affix wood veneer to wood surfaces.
  • Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions.
  • Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment.
  • Replace parts as required.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work in a wood products manufacturer environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
