Job Title: Physiotherapy Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at Wikwemikong Nursing Home. As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our physiotherapists in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Physiotherapy Assistant will be responsible for assisting physiotherapists in assessing patients' physical abilities, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing education to patients and their families. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physiotherapists in assessing patients' physical abilities and developing treatment plans
  • Implement treatment plans under the direction of physiotherapists, including exercises, stretches, and other interventions
  • Provide education to patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress and treatment plans
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining equipment and supplies
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or a related health science)
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a physiotherapy or rehabilitation role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care
