Job Title: Indigenous Language Educator
Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Indigenous Language Educator to join our team at the Government of Northwest Territories. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the Dene Zhatie language and promoting cultural heritage in a grade 7-12 school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the Dene Zhatie language to students in grades 7-12
- Develop and implement culturally relevant curricula
- Work with students and parents to promote cultural heritage
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning
Qualifications:
- Must hold a N.W.T. Professional Teaching Certificate
- Must have the ability to speak the Dene Zhatie language
- Must demonstrate the ability to work with students and parents in a multi-grade setting
