About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to join our medical team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Emergency Department.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency medicine and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to provide expert care to patients, including examining patients, ordering diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications.

Responsibilities
  • Examine patients and take their histories
  • Order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
  • Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consult and refer to other medical practitioners
  • Act as a patient advocate
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  • Current PALS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • College of Family Physicians of Canada ER certification and current ATLS Certification considered an asset
