We are seeking a dedicated **Emergency Medicine Physician** to become a vital part of our healthcare team. While an Emergency Medicine fellowship is not mandatory, candidates should possess current **ACLS** and **PALS** certifications.
The **Emergency Department** operates around the clock, offering **12-hour shifts** to accommodate our staff's work-life balance. We also have a need for family physicians within the community, and a blend of emergency and family medicine expertise will be highly regarded.
As part of the Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will work in a supportive environment that values education and professional development. Our facility provides a range of services, including **asthma management**, **diabetes education**, and **psychiatric support**. The successful candidate will have opportunities to engage in teaching and mentoring medical students.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform thorough patient assessments
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Deliver health guidance and preventive care advice
- Make referrals to specialists as necessary
- Prescribe appropriate medications and treatment plans
- Active licensure with the **College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia**
- Membership with the **College of Family Physicians of Canada** for family physicians
- Membership with the **Canadian Medical Protective Association**
- Current relevant certifications
- Emergency Room certification from the **College of Family Physicians of Canada** is an asset
