Financial Analyst II

Job Summary
The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst II to join its Research Financial Services department. As an integral member of the Grants Management team, the successful candidate will perform a wide range of professional accounting activities, including financial statement preparation, grant administration, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with researchers, support staff, and granting agencies to account for and facilitate the administration of research grants
- Oversee the set up of new grants and close expired grants in an accurate and timely manner
- Prepare financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations to assist with forecasting and financial reporting
- Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support decision-making and analysis
- Collaborate with institutional and external partners to complete audits and ensure compliance with accounting principles and policies
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration or equivalent
- Experience with grant accounting and financial analysis
- Three to five years of experience in an accounting environment with exposure to a range of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large quantities of financial and statistical data
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at various levels
