At Wickaninnish Inn, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to join our Culinary team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Pastry Department, including supporting the savory kitchen. Our culinary philosophy is centered around using seasonal products and maintaining the highest level of culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient and personalized guest service, meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux and AAA 4 Diamond standards.
  • Participate in and oversee menu planning, production, and presentation of items for The Pointe Restaurant, On The Rocks Bar, Driftwood Café, Special Events, and in-room amenities.
  • Support the savory kitchen with mise en place, utilizing baking and pastry techniques.
  • Supervise team members, including scheduling, training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
  • Be the liaison between The Pointe Restaurant Leadership Team and Pastry Team.
  • Order and manage inventory related to the Pastry Department.

Requirements:

  • Possess a calm demeanor and a sense of urgency as required.
  • Be detail-oriented and thrive in a multi-tasking, fast-paced working environment.
  • Have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be able to work AM shifts and be flexible with scheduling.
  • Be knowledgeable about current culinary and F&B trends, innovations, and techniques.
  • Hold a well-rounded skill set with proficiency in the production and decoration of cakes, pastries, desserts, and breads.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position or level in a fine dining establishment.
  • Be knowledgeable about and capable of meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux and AAA 4 Diamond standards.
  • Hold a valid Food Safe Certification.

Salary/Wage: $75,000 annually.
