Pastry Junior Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at the Wickaninnish Inn. As a key member of our pastry team, you will be responsible for assisting the Pastry Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the pastry shop, ensuring the highest level of culinary excellence and meeting Relais & Chateaux and AAA 4-Diamond standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Pastry Chef in managing the pastry shop, including production, inventory, and ordering.
  • Ensure efficient and personalized guest service, meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux and AAA 4-Diamond standards.
  • Participate in events and special requests, including menu planning and launches.
  • Attend kitchen leadership meetings and contribute to the development and execution of monthly departmental meetings.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior team members.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar position or level in a fine dining establishment.
  • Knowledge of Relais & Chateaux and AAA 4-Diamond standards.
  • BC Foodsafe certification or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
