Job Title: Orthopaedic Surgeon

Calian Group Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team as a part-time healthcare provider for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). This unique opportunity allows physicians to work with CAF members without becoming members themselves.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing general orthopaedic consultation services to CAF members on a referral basis.
  • Performing comprehensive diagnosis, medical management, and rehabilitation of patients.
  • Determining procedures for preoperative and postoperative care, applying surgical procedures, and coordinating operations with anesthesiologists.
  • Participating as a member of the multidisciplinary team for case conferences when on-site.
  • Practicing as a member of a multidisciplinary team and consulting with members of other health professions as appropriate to ensure the health care needs of CAF members are met.
  • Practicing in accordance with the Canadian Armed Forces' Spectrum of Care, Drug Benefit List, and Code of Ethics.
Qualifications:
  • Currently licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC).
  • Full hospital privileges at an acute care medical facility to perform surgery and deal with complications.
  • Eligible for Government security clearance at Reliability level.
