We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Counsellor to join our team at MacEwan University. As a full-time 18-month limited term appointment, you will be working closely with our multi-disciplinary team to support student mental health, academic success, and well-being.

This role involves providing professional individual counselling, case management, and general assessment services to students. You will work with a systemic approach to help develop social well-being and functioning while addressing broader social issues within the university.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing in-person and telehealth/virtual counselling and psychotherapy for mental health concerns
  • Conducting general assessments of health and well-being to determine treatment plans
  • Intervening and evaluating clients in collaboration with other professionals
  • Supporting students at risk and connecting them with internal and external resources
  • Providing safe and affirming counselling for marginalized groups
  • Participating in case consultation activities and department meetings

You will hold a master's degree in Counselling/Clinical Psychology or Clinical Social Work and have a professional registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists or the Alberta College of Social Workers. Experience with professional general assessments, counselling, group facilitation, and workshop development is required. Prior experience in post-secondary education is an asset.

The estimated salary for this role is between $80,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Please submit your cover letter and curriculum vitae with your application.
