Accounts Payable Department Manager

Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager – Financial Reporting, the Accounts Payable Department Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the day-to-day operations and activities of a centralized Accounts Payable department. The incumbent assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining high standards of service in the management of fiscal, human, and material resources for the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable department
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations
- Supervise and train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in Business Administration from an accredited business program, majoring in Accounting
- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook, with particular competency in the creation and modification of Excel spreadsheets
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software an asset
- Two (2) years recent relevant and supervisory experience
- Previous Accounts Payable experience an asset
- Previous project work experience an asset
- Demonstrated strong communication skills both in oral and written format
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and direct activities
- Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple priorities and competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to promote positive change
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality, including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums
- Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required
- Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
- Good work and attendance record
Conditions of Employment:
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
- All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00
