Job Title: Residential Counsellor

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counsellor to join our team at the Society for Treatment of Autism (NS). As a Residential Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a group home setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals with ASD
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as housekeeping and food preparation
  • Help individuals develop life skills and independence
  • Supervise activities and ensure the safety and well-being of individuals
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement individualized plans
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, education)
  • Experience working with individuals with ASD or other developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
