Job Title: Residential Counsellor

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counsellor to join our team at the Society for Treatment of Autism (NS). As a Residential Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a group home setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to clients living in group homes and half-way houses
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as housekeeping and food preparation
  • Implement behaviour management programs to promote positive outcomes
  • Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field
  • Behaviour management Certification
  • Community disability studies Certificate
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
  • Cultural Awareness Training
  • Medication Administration Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Food Safety Certificate
