Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Designer to join our team at PCL Constructors Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality training programs and courses that meet the needs of our diverse workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop instructor-led courses and programs that apply adult learning methodologies and meet the needs of our participants.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop curricula that align with our business objectives.
  • Assess the needs of our participants and modify instructional strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Develop e-learning content using rapid authoring tools to support instructor-led courses and programs.
  • Evaluate courses and programs to ensure they meet our quality standards and implement revisions as needed.
  • Provide company-wide support and consultation services on all matters related to learning and development initiatives.
  • Manage the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of entry-level to intermediate behavioral and technical courses and programs.
  • Prepare course materials, including pre- and post-course work, and manage the preparation of course materials.
  • Research and apply best practices and industry trends to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in instructional design.
  • Monitor and assess learners' development and assess their learning outcomes.
  • Act as project lead for assigned initiatives and programs, applying project and time management principles to track tasks and deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive experience with training delivery and/or facilitation in a corporate environment preferred.
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and practices, including various instructional design approaches and learner-centric design and learning solutions.
  • Ability to deliver instructor-led courses to diverse groups of participants with varying knowledge, experience, and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritize conflicting deadlines.
  • Project management experience and knowledge of organizational change-management methodologies an asset.
  • Intermediate-level business acumen and understanding of industry practices and new developments.
  • Ability to research and analyze information.
  • Ability to develop and form relationships and gain the confidence of learners to ensure effective facilitation.
  • Experience designing and implementing new courses and/or programs.
