The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our Real Estate & Infrastructure Management Branch. As a key team player, you will support the overall safety and efficiency of our provincial building infrastructure.
Primary Accountabilities- Utilize your sound analytical and organizational skills to create and maintain accurate and detailed files and records.
- Record, prepare, and distribute various correspondence and meeting minutes.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate tracking systems.
- Ensure the supply of office materials and inventory.
You will also provide support and assistance to staff, ensuring the efficient operation of our office. Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential for liaising with staff and responding to inquiries, both verbally and in writing.

Required Qualifications and ExperienceYou must have four (4) years of related experience in an administrative support role. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
You must demonstrate a working knowledge of document processing, data entry, and maintaining records, as well as spreadsheet software and creation, word and document processing, and email applications. Experience with different SAP modules and knowledge and familiarity with various Nova Scotia Government Policies are desirable qualities.
Working Conditions- May be required to work overtime on occasion.
- Required to move/lift objects such as office supplies, boxes, equipment, and files.
- Typically located in a comfortable office environment.
- Much of the time is spent in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.
- Regularly reads and interprets multiple sources of information, regular requirement to type, read and work on a computer.
- May experience pressure with deadlines and need for accuracy.
