About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Rights Education Advisor to join our team at Equitas - International Centre for Human Rights Education. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that empowers individuals and communities to fight inequality and discrimination.

Main Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and implement educational programs that promote human rights and social justice, in collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
    • Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and other educational activities that meet the needs of diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge Development and Dissemination
    • Conduct research and analysis to identify best practices and emerging trends in human rights education.
    • Develop and disseminate knowledge products, such as reports, briefs, and educational materials, to support the work of Equitas and its partners.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships
    • Build and maintain relationships with partners, stakeholders, and other organizations to advance the goals of Equitas and its programs.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program strategies and plans.
  • Project Management and Evaluation
    • Manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective delivery of results.
    • Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
  • Ability to communicate orally, read and understand documents produced in French and ability to communicate in English.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in instructional design, training delivery, and program management.
  • Formal education/training in instructional design/curriculum development (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to work on several projects at the same time.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in an intercultural environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Assets
  • Experience of working in the international cooperation sector.
  • Experience of working on anti-racism, gender equality and/or other social justice issues.
  • Experience in designing e-learning courses.
  • Commitment to human rights, human rights education and/or social justice issues.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Salesforce and other software is an asset.
