Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Damascus, Café and bakery. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, preparing food, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety.
- Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of food, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Food Service: Operate dishwashers, wash and polish floors, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, including responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Assist with the settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, including housing, transportation, and language training.
- Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship and coaching opportunities to Indigenous workers, and provide cultural competency training to all employees.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- Experience: Will train.
- Language: English or French.
- Work Hours: 30 hours per week.
