Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Instrument Technician to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

About the Role

This is a casual position that involves working in a fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for disassembling and decontaminating surgical instruments, respiratory equipment, and other patient-care equipment as prescribed by departmental operating procedures and in accordance with Infection Control policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disassemble and decontaminate surgical instruments, respiratory equipment, and other patient-care equipment.
  • Assemble, inspect, package, and sterilize instruments, equipment, surgical linens as prescribed by departmental operating procedures.
  • Actively participate in the department's Quality Improvement programs/activities.
  • Perform various cleaning duties following aseptic technique.
  • Transport supplies between the MDR department, the OR and the ER Trauma Room.
Requirements
  • Current MDR experience required.
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a recognized CRCST Program with appropriate certification.
Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of aseptic technique, medical terminology, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. The physical demands of this role require the ability to tolerate constant standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
