About the Role

As a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, you will play a critical role in ensuring the preparation and sterilization of medical devices for use in operating rooms. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Reprocess complex surgical instruments, including disassembling, manual washing, ultrasonic washing, quality assurance checks, and reassembly of specialized equipment.
  • Maintain awareness of subtle complexities of instruments from various specialties and utilize generated pick lists to complete instrumentation and consumables required for case carts.
  • Operate sterilization systems, prepare devices for specific techniques, monitor readings, error codes, and quality assurance for load releases.
  • Interact with OR personnel to ensure supply issues are met and handle/transport sterile supplies.
  • Critical problem-solving and decision-making required, including prioritization, customer service complaints, and determining equipment functionality.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician I is required.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary, and proficiency in an Indigenous language is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and rotate through assignments.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $83,550 - $103,355, depending on experience. The exact compensation package will be discussed during the hiring process.
