About the Role:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Alberta Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to identify patient needs, set priorities, and implement care plans. Your expertise will be essential in administering medications, evaluating treatment progress, and monitoring patient response.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in nursing assessment and interventions, care planning, and implementing prescribed treatments.
- Administer medications, evaluate treatment progress, and monitor patient response.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify patient needs and set priorities.
- Provide patient and family-centered education and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality monitoring activities and maintain competent practice.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within the CoACT framework and Connect Care experience.
- Experience in care of medical, post-operative surgical, orthopedic, and subacute patients.
- ACLS certification.
- IV Therapy and PICC certification.
- At least 1 year of acute care experience.
