About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Grant Reporting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will provide independent, specialized, professional expertise focused on the grant application lifecycle and the generation of detailed reports from our Grants Management System (GMS). Your primary responsibility will be to interpret report requests, design reports in a user-friendly format, and generate reports in a timely manner. You will also analyze and interpret grants-related data to explain reports, identify trends, and offer suggestions to improve and enhance reports to better meet user needs.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Prepare grants-related reports in Excel from data downloaded from the GMS. This includes meeting with staff to understand the request, designing reports in a user-friendly format, interpreting reports and answering questions related to the report results, and maintaining reports in Teams.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for senior management in Excel using detailed GMS data within short deadlines.
  • Respond to frequent enquiries on the status of grants. Maintain a detailed listing of all grants statuses in an open environment for program staff to access.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and program staff from other divisions to continually improve processes.
  • Work strategically with industry partners with a continuous improvement mindset to enhance our Grants Management System for user experience and reporting capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot between all integrated systems.
  • Facilitate training to end-users.
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have a post-secondary degree in a related field plus five years of related experience. An acceptable equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. You will have technical experience working within financial software and/or grants management software as well as a strong demonstrated skillset using Microsoft Office programs with a focus on Excel. You will have experience in a client-orientated environment applying the concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion to all areas of your work and support your colleagues to do the same.
