We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team in Iqaluit, Nunavut. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and guidance on human resources issues, including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.

About the Role

The Human Resources Manager will lead a team of six HR professionals and manage HR services for approximately 100 employees. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic advice and recommendations to management on human resources issues
  • Developing and implementing HR plans that support the organization's goals and workforce needs
  • Ensuring our hiring practices align with Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement, focusing on increasing Inuit employment within our government operations
About Parks Canada

Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada's natural and cultural resources. In Nunavut, we cooperatively manage five national parks, one national historic site, and one national marine conservation area. As a member of our team, you will help protect, present, and share these incredible places so they remain for generations.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Secondary school diploma (i.e., Grade 12) or a Public Service Commission-approved alternative
  • Degree equivalency
  • Experience working in a management or supervisory role
  • Experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to management on human resources issues
  • Experience preparing professional communications products, such as memos to staff, briefing notes, presentations, or written reports
