Job Title: Consultant Full Time

Join the Government of Nunavut as a Consultant Full Time and contribute to the development and maintenance of a productive and harmonious working environment in GN departments, boards, and agencies.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Full Time to provide expert advice, training, and guidance to departments handling employer/employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions. As a key member of our team, you will assist managers in disciplinary actions, provide guidance on the interpretation of collective agreements and human resource policies, and assist in implementing strategies to promote a positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on employer/employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions
  • Assist managers in disciplinary actions and provide guidance on the interpretation of collective agreements and human resource policies
  • Assist in implementing strategies to promote a positive working environment
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with departmental managers and employees
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree from a recognized university in Industrial Relations, Business (with a Human Resources or Labour Relations major), Psychology, or Labour Law
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • A good understanding of compensation policies and practices
  • The ability to communicate in French, one of Nunavut's official languages
  • Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, and land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and Inuktut
