The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Coordinator to join our team at the IWK Health Centre. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for coordinating the procurement process, developing strategies to resolve issues, and managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute complex bid documents, including Supply Arrangements, Requests for Standing Offers, and Requests for Proposals.
  • Coordinate all Capital Equipment purchases for the Health Centre.
  • Lead multiple strategic sourcing initiatives across the IWK, driving cost savings and process efficiencies.
  • Negotiate contracts with internal and external clients and vendors.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, such as Commerce or Business.
  • Minimum three years' experience in clinical procurement or five years of procurement experience.
  • Experience with procurement processes and ERP systems, such as SAP.
  • Strong management, problem identification, and resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

We are a respected academic health sciences centre located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, providing tertiary and primary care for two million children, youth, adults, and families each year across the Atlantic region. We have a team of approximately 4000 employees, physicians, volunteers, and learners at sites across Nova Scotia.
