About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Designer to join our team at Matthews International. As a Senior Designer, you will play a key role in leading the design process and bringing our clients' product vision to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design process from concept to completion, ensuring a deep understanding of the strategic direction.
  • Deliver strong conceptual thinking that drives exciting designs and meets client expectations.
  • Work closely with the Strategy Directors to approach projects with a strategic focus.
  • Build and deliver Equator presentations that showcase your design expertise.
  • Identify and report on ongoing trends in food and drink, retail, design, and packaging.
  • Collaborate with the Account Team to deliver on projects and present to clients.
  • Lead the creation of case studies, awards, and content for internal communications and social media.
  • Interact with the photo studio, Art Directing your own photoshoots.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
  • Collaborate with the team onsite at our office two days a week.
Requirements
  • A degree in graphic design, fine arts, or packaging design.
  • Five years of experience in food and beverage packaging graphic design.
  • Experience in developing graphic design strategies, including analyzing, researching, and creating/developing visual solutions.
  • Knowledge of flexography, lithography, rotogravure, dry offset, and computer programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • A portfolio with a minimum of 5 examples of different food or beverage packaging design projects.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for client projects.
