Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief Power Engineer to join our team at Roquette Frères S.A. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong background in power generation and utility operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Acting Deputy Chief Engineer in carrying out Class 2 Power Engineer responsibilities and assisting with maintenance systems.
  • Operate and maintain high-pressure boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ancillary systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair of boiler failures, water production, and wastewater monitoring systems.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of boiler/refrigeration systems and coordinate with powerhouse and maintenance personnel.
  • Assist with team supervision and operation of maintenance and control of Chiller equipment, refrigerated glycol, and low- and high-pressure steam systems.
  • Participate in the issuance of Confined Space Entry Permits and perform assigned responsibilities during plant evacuations.
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions and assist in the development of energy control procedures and safe work practices.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 2 Power Engineer license.
  • 5-7 years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in operating large utilities facilities, including power distribution, steam generation, vacuum systems, compressed air systems, and water distribution systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under extreme conditions and use personal protective equipment.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced industrial environment, with regular exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and hazardous materials. The ability to climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks, and work at heights and in confined spaces is essential.
