Job Summary

Roquette is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Chief Power Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our plant operations team, you will be responsible for carrying out Class 2 Power Engineer responsibilities and assisting the Chief Engineer in maintaining our steam, refrigeration, compressed air, plant water, domestic water, fire suppression, and natural gas systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the operation and maintenance of our power generation and distribution systems.
  • Perform mechanical repairs and troubleshooting on boiler and refrigeration equipment.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing Shift Supervisors, Process Engineers, and maintenance team to ensure production targets are met.
  • Act as a supervisor in the absence of the Chief Engineer, leading team shift huddles, scheduling, and work assessments.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of the boiler and refrigeration systems.
  • Assist with team supervision and operation of the maintenance and control of Chiller equipment, Refrigerated Glycol, and low- and high-pressure steam systems.
  • Conduct inspections on the fire sprinkler system as required.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all monitored equipment.
  • Participate in the issuance of Confined Space Entry Permits.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities during plant evacuations due to fire and gas.
  • Take action to meet quality and productivity standards.
  • Promptly identify and address unsafe conditions.
  • Assist in the development of energy control procedures and safe work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all HACCP procedures.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and functional condition.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 2 Power Engineer license.
  • 5-7 years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in operating large Utilities facilities.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with equipment troubleshooting.
  • Control room experience and maintenance experience.
  • Ability to work under extreme conditions and use personal protective equipment.
