Job Title: 3rd Class Power Engineer

Roquette is a global leader in plant-based ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 3rd Class Power Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist the Shift Engineer in the operation and maintenance of various systems, including steam, refrigeration, compressed air, plant water, domestic water, fire suppression, and natural gas. The individual must be capable of supporting systems and performing mechanical repairs in all areas as directed by the Shift Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs to enhance plant efficiency and safety.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety, quality, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with the isolation of equipment for service, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Develop and implement energy control procedures and safe work practices.
  • Participate in investigations, education programs, and safety meetings to promote a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and maintain air compressor, air dryer, and air intake systems.
  • Operate refrigeration systems efficiently and effectively within manufacturer specifications.
  • Issue confined space entry permits and lockout/tagout (LOTO) as required.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities during plant evacuations due to fire and gas.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class 3 Power Engineer license with a goal to obtain Class 2.
  • 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in operating large utilities facilities, including power distribution, steam generation, vacuum systems, compressed air systems, water distribution systems, fire protection systems, and refrigeration systems with glycol as a secondary refrigerant.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Control room experience, monitoring complex processes, and coordinating critical activities.
  • Maintenance experience, prioritizing asset maintenance to ensure plant reliability.
  • Ability to work under extreme conditions, including hot, wet, and cold environments, noise, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, and work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment, such as respirators, SCBA, and safety harnesses.
