**Job Summary**
Vintage Hotels is seeking a skilled Banquet Captain to join our team at our Prince of Wales location. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, meeting sales goals, and leading the setup and service of functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized and exceptional guest service at every opportunity.
- Meet established up-selling and sales goals.
- Lead the setup function space as required, both in-house and off-site.
- Lead the service function according to established Standard Operating Procedures.
- Manage the service of each function as the lead hand.
- Tear down at functions end; ensure all equipment is returned to its proper place.
- Ensure all cutleries are polished.
- Ensure supply and equipment areas are clean and organized.
- Ensure area and function rooms are properly cleaned after groups leave and set for show.
- Work closely with the Conference Services Manager and/or Special Events Manager to ensure details are executed for each event.
- Prepare final billing for events, including required back-up charges such as control sheets for beverage inventory.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation.
- At least 1-2 years serving experience in a lead or supervisory capacity, preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Smart Serve Certification is required.
- Knowledge of Maestro, an asset.
- Previous up-selling and/or sales experience, considered an asset.
