Ambulatory Surgical Clinic Coordinator

A valuable member of the ambulatory surgical clinics, this position is responsible for reception, communication, appointment scheduling, chart flow, armbanding, and building of Community Wide Scheduling resource schedules. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the clinic needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies, and standards of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre
  • Provides exceptional customer service skills, communicates effectively, and interacts with diplomacy toward patients, families, external agencies, and staff
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a professional team
  • Utilizes telephone etiquette and accurately receives and relays information in a timely manner to the appropriate person/departments
  • Utilizes and shares acquired knowledge and demonstrates ability to be flexible and adaptable to a changing work environment
  • Proficient in the completion of tasks associated with daily clinic routine and processes, ability to prioritize and function effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong organizational skills, and accountability
  • Commitment to professional growth and development and medical office administration certificate or equivalent program required

Computer Competency:

  • Proficient in working in a computerized environment and utilizing Meditech – ADM, Meditech – Expanse/PCS/Service Portal/Maintenance, Meditech – Community Wide Scheduling, Meditech – EMR, and Microsoft Office

Other:

  • Maintains departmental statistical data as requested and orders/maintains departmental supplies – stationary, charts, etc.
  • Proven work place excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong ability to multitask
  • Experience improving the data quality, sharing of processes, and accuracy of information gathered to move forward
  • Must be available to work at off-site locations when required

Unless otherwise stated, applicants must have a minimum educational requirement of Grade 12 or equivalent and must demonstrate proven workplace excellence through commitment to strong job performance and attendance.

Please be reminded that as a Regional Health Centre, in order to provide the necessary patient care, our operations run 24/7. Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts – days, evenings, and nights.
