Job Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our Human Research Ethics Program. As the Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the program's success and contributing to the university's mission to advance knowledge and innovation.


About the Role


The Director will be responsible for:



  • Oversight of the Human Research Ethics Program's strategic direction and operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and university policies.
  • Fostering a culture of research ethics and integrity across the university.

Responsibilities


The successful candidate will be expected to:



  • Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and best practices for research ethics and compliance.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and advice to members of the research community.
  • Manage research ethics and regulatory matters involving human participants.

Requirements


To be considered for this role, the candidate must possess:



  • A PhD in Health, Social Sciences, or Ethics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in research ethics administration, preferably in a research-intensive institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of the human research environment, Tri-Council Policy Statement, and other national and international policies and guidelines.
  • Excellent supervision skills, software proficiency, and ability to interpret complex university policies and systems.
