Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Project Coordinator to work on several studies evaluating neurodevelopmental outcomes and behavioral supports for children with early brain injury.

The Clinical Research Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing subject recruitment and follow-up, including data collection and entry, explaining research studies to participants, preparing and organizing study materials, monitoring timelines for existing studies, and balancing the demands of multiple projects.

The successful candidate will contribute to grant applications, conduct medical literature searches, maintain literature databases, retrieve articles from the library, and prepare, submit, and maintain Research Ethics Board (REB) applications.

The Clinical Research Project Coordinator will also assist the PI in preparing research study protocols, research ethics board submissions, informed consents, questionnaires, preparation of results, reports, presentations, manuscripts, and other study documents.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in sciences or social sciences (e.g., psychology, neuroscience) and experience working with families and children, understanding of brain-behavior connection, experience in the design and conceptualization of clinical research studies in mental health, and familiarity with conducting randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and implementation science.

Responsibilities

- Oversee subject recruitment and follow-up, including data collection and entry
- Explain research studies to participants, obtain informed consent, and follow up with participants who have not completed study measures
- Prepare and organize study materials for ongoing patient follow up
- Monitor timelines for existing studies and balance the demands of multiple projects
- Conduct medical literature searches, maintain literature databases, retrieve articles from the library
- Prepare, submit, and maintain Research Ethics Board (REB) applications

Requirements

- Master's degree in sciences or social sciences (e.g., psychology, neuroscience)
- Experience working with families and children, understanding of brain-behavior connection
- Experience in the design and conceptualization of clinical research studies in mental health
- Familiarity with conducting randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and implementation science an asset
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects with tight timelines simultaneously
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with strong judgement, excellent problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead a wide variety of people at different levels
- Demonstrated effective communication (oral/written) skills, ability to explain complex ideas in plain language, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines, work independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- The candidate must have experience with confidential data and large datasets and a proven ability to support implementation and adherence to study protocols
- Computer competency including familiarity with databases (REDCap, OneDrive, SPSS), MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
