About the Role

Momentum Financial Services Group_new is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our data science function, you will play a critical role in building and implementing predictive models that drive business growth and inform strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model Development and Implementation: Develop and implement predictive models that will be utilized in a variety of applications across our financial services business, including underwriting, account management, servicing, fraud, and marketing.
  • Analytical Techniques and Algorithm Development: Leverage a variety of predictive algorithms and analytical techniques to solve complex business problems, from modern machine learning to traditional statistical algorithms.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze diverse datasets to identify trends and patterns that may impact our business objectives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with partners in the entire model lifecycle, including solution design, development, deployment, documentation, approval, and monitoring. Communicate findings and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Model Validation and Performance Monitoring: Conduct thorough model validation and performance monitoring to ensure accuracy and effectiveness across multiple data streams.
  • Staying Current with Industry Trends: Stay current with industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory requirements related to credit risk modeling, particularly in alternative data usage.
Qualifications
  • Financial Services Experience: 2+ years of hands-on financial services experience building predictive models and analytic solutions, with a strong preference for credit risk models.
  • Programming and Data Science Skills: Experience with a structured, analytical programming language solving analytic problems, with a strong preference for Python. Familiarity with machine learning libraries, including pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow.
  • SQL and Data Science Solutions: Strong experience in SQL and familiarity with data science solutions such as H2O, Azure ML, and Sagemaker.
  • Education and Certifications: Graduate degree in a quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or Economics.
