We have formed a global data science and analytics group, as part of the Intelligence GBA Global Solutions Delivery Organization – covering:

Managed Service Contracts, Systems Integration Services, "Woven" – Telecommunications Network Services, Transportation Tolling Solutions, Urban Transportation Solutions, Asset Management, Enterprise Asset Management, EAM, Enterprise Decision Analytics (Asset Investment Planning, AIP)

Individuals in this group will undertake a mix of billable, strategic advisory work and where necessary pre-sales support activities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of data science and advanced analytics focused opportunities and provide leadership to the engagements.

Role accountabilities:

As a Data Scientist, you will support the technical delivery of various analytics projects, working closely with experienced Data Scientists and other team members. You will contribute to the development of Analytics Solutions for our clients, gaining hands-on experience in advanced analytics techniques, machine learning, and project management.

In this role, you'll assist in project tasks, including requirements gathering, data processing, and results presentation. You'll have opportunities to learn by working on client-facing activities such as demonstrations and training, under the guidance of senior team members.

You will also collaborate with other teams within Intelligence, particularly Solutions Delivery and Product & Technology teams, to help develop innovative analytics solutions. Additionally, you'll have the chance to interface with the broader business, contributing ideas and learning how to provide technical input on analytics products and solutions.

Core responsibilities include:

Support Quality and Innovation: Assist in implementing best practices in Analytics solutions, learning to identify and apply effective approaches and tools under the guidance of senior team members.Contribute to Project Delivery: Support in the delivery of analytical projects, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality, while learning to align work with project scope.Assist in Solution Design: Work with other Data Scientists to help design analytics solutions that meet client needs, gaining exposure to creating scalable solutions that can be adapted for other clients.Support Quality Management: Participate in quality checks throughout project delivery, learning to ensure all work aligns with the project scope.Collaborate and Learn: Take part in peer reviews of reports and code, contributing to and learning from the work of colleagues.Business Development Support: Assist in business development activities, including helping with software demonstrations, supporting proposal writing, and learning to identify opportunities for generating revenueDevelop and Deploy Applications: Contribute to the development of Analytics-based applications and learn how to help deploy them to the cloud.Client Satisfaction: Support efforts to ensure that services and software delivered meet client expectations and deliver value, learning to understand and contribute to the realisation of business benefits.

Qualifications & Experience:

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join Arcadis, where you'll gain hands-on experience with real-world projects, collaborate with various teams, and learn from experienced professionals. Essential Skills:

An effective communicator who is credible, confident and articulate. Able to communicate complex technical detail to non-technical audiences. Demonstrable skills in data collection and interpretation. Demonstrable use of R, Python, Matlab, SAS, SPSS or similar or other statistical packages to process data and carry out advanced analytics techniques. Experience in advanced data visualisation techniques along with tools such as Qlik, Power BI and open source visualisation tools Proven ability in presenting methodologies and results to varying levels of technical competencyExcellent communication (verbal and written) and organisational skills.

Desirable skills:

Experience of delivery of analytical projects in a consultancy environment. Predictive and / or prescriptive analytics and machine learning. Sensitivity and scenario analysis of analytical models. Understanding of investment models, assets and systems of assets, understanding of Optimisation (linear & non-linear), Prioritisation and Monte Carlo analysis would be advantageous Experience of working for a large asset owning company, or on projects for such companies, would be advantageous. You have experience working with professional coding technologies such as Git and Docker You have a good understanding of modern cloud technologies such as Azure and the deployment of analytics solutions thereon. You have experience of waterfall and Agile methodologies and within Agile understand the differences between Scrum, SAFe, KanBan including their context and application
