Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in an acute and complex medical program. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess and treat neurological patients, progressing them through their care plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat neurological patients in an acute inpatient setting
  • Develop and implement cognitive assessments and cognitive remediation/compensatory strategies
  • Collaborate with a physiotherapist, occupational therapy assistant/physiotherapy assistant, and multidisciplinary team
  • Work independently and collaboratively with team members to achieve patient outcomes
  • Utilize outcome measures to evaluate patient progress
  • Provide excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Meet the physical demands of the position
Requirements
  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Member of the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists preferred
  • Experience working with neurological conditions required
  • Cognitive/perceptual assessment and treatment skills
  • Knowledge and experience working in an inpatient Geriatrics and acute medical setting
  • Strong organizational abilities with proven time management skills
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
