We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Halton Healthcare Services. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from neurological conditions and regain their independence.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess and treat patients with neurological conditions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized care plans, providing cognitive and perceptual assessments, and implementing compensatory strategies to promote patient independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat patients with neurological conditions in an acute inpatient setting
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote patient independence
  • Provide cognitive and perceptual assessments to identify areas of strength and weakness
  • Implement compensatory strategies to promote patient independence
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • Member of the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists preferred
  • Experience working with neurological conditions required
  • Cognitive/perceptual assessment and treatment skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience working with patients in an acute inpatient setting
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience working in an inpatient Geriatrics and acute medical setting
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in cognitive assessments and cognitive remediation/compensatory strategies
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of outcome measures
  • Must be flexible and demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with all team members
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities with proven time management skills
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
