Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Headwaters Health Care Centre. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments on a daily basis according to the standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
  • Perform duties expected of a Registered Nurse within the Emergency Department, including triage, assessment, and treatment of patients.
  • Work independently under medical directives and make critical thinking decisions to ensure patient safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in emergency nursing.
Requirements
  • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current certification in CTAS training/experience (preferred).
  • 1-2 years recent Emergency Room experience (preference will be given to those candidates with Emergency Department experience).
  • CTAS Triage Certified in 6 months (preferred).
  • Medical Directives certification in 6 months.
  • ACLS certification and experience.
  • CPR certification.
  • Delegated Controlled Act – Defibrillation.
  • IV Therapy initiation and maintenance (Parenteral Therapy).
  • Trauma Management course (TNCC) or equivalent (preferred).
  • Coronary Care course – Level 1 or equivalent.
  • Critical Care or Emergency Room courses (asset).
  • Able to work independently under medical directives.
  • Experience with pediatrics (preferred).
  • PALS or ENPC course (preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking decision making skills.
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records.
