Registered Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our Dialysis Department at Headwaters Health Care Centre. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general Hemodialysis nursing duties to patients with predictable outcomes and lower risk for negative outcomes.
- Perform duties according to the Practice Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
- Collaborate with the inter-professional team to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum two years of hemodialysis experience within the last five years required.
- Minimum five years medicine nursing experience required.
- Nephrology certificate required or enrolled and will successfully complete Nephrology certificate within 3 years of hire.
- Completion of vascular access modules from the Ontario Renal Network required.
- Current BCLS certification required.
- Management of Aggressive Behavior or equivalent preferred.
- Certificate in Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) preferred.
- Current ACLS certification, or completion within 3 months of hire (completion preferred).
- Competence in starting and maintaining IV's.
- Excellent physical assessment skills required.
- Medication Administration certificate and patient assessment course required for RPNs graduating prior 2005.
- Exemplary clinical practice within an inter-professional team and ability to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team.
