Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Headwaters Health Care Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide general and specialized nursing duties, adhering to the standards of Nursing Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and approved standards of care of the Corporation.
  • Work independently under medical directives, utilizing critical thinking and decision-making skills to prioritize patient care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current certification in CTAS training/experience (preferred).
  • 1-2 years recent Emergency Room experience (preference will be given to those candidates with Emergency Department experience).
  • CTAS Triage Certified in 6 months (preferred).
  • Medical Directives certification in 6 months.
  • ACLS certification and experience.
  • CPR certification.
  • Delegated Controlled Act – Defibrillation.
  • IV Therapy initiation and maintenance (Parenteral Therapy).
  • Trauma Management course (TNCC) or equivalent (preferred).
  • Coronary Care course – Level 1 or equivalent.
  • Critical Care or Emergency Room courses (asset).
  • Able to work independently under medical directives.
  • Experience with pediatrics (preferred).
  • PALS or ENPC course (preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking decision-making skills.
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records.
