Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Headwaters Health Care Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide general and specialized nursing duties in the Emergency Department
  • Assess, plan, and implement patient care according to established standards and protocols
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
Requirements:
  • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • 1-2 years recent Emergency Room experience (preference will be given to those candidates with Emergency Department experience)
  • CTAS Triage Certified in 6 months (preferred)
  • Medical Directives certification in 6 months (Medical Directives certification to be completed within 6 months of hire)
  • ACLS certification and experience
  • CPR certification
  • Delegated Controlled Act – Defibrillation
  • IV Therapy initiation and maintenance (Parenteral Therapy)
  • Trauma Management course (TNCC) or equivalent (preferred)
  • Coronary Care course – Level 1 or equivalent
  • Critical Care or Emergency Room courses (asset)
  • Able to work independently under medical directives
  • Experience with pediatrics (preferred)
  • PALS or ENPC course (preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking decision making skills
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records
