Job Summary

The Construction HSE Advisor will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment on our construction sites. This includes developing and implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and providing training to site personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement controls to mitigate them
  • Provide training to site personnel on safety procedures and protocols
  • Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with site leadership to ensure a safe working environment
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation, including incident reports and safety audits
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices

Requirements

  • OH&S diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years construction industry experience
  • CRSP certification an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Working Conditions

The incumbent will work from the site trailers in an office and field environment with moderate noise. The job may require walking stairs, climbing ladders, working at heights, and in confined spaces; being outside in inclement weather; carrying objects; driving; and being exposed to normal office and field routines.

Physical Requirements

The incumbent will require close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal for extended periods and extensive reading. The incumbent will also require standing and sitting for extended periods and will need good physical attributes for walking on uneven ground, climbing, confined space entry, limited lifting, and sitting.
