About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Coordinator to join our team at Bird Construction Group. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, clients, and the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective safety programs and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with site leadership and employees to promote a culture of safety and provide training and coaching on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and develop and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, and incidents.
  • Communicate safety information and updates to employees, clients, and stakeholders through regular reports and meetings.
Requirements
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation required.
  • 5-10 years' experience in HSE field, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with employees, clients, and stakeholders.
