Construction HSE Specialist

Job Summary
The Construction HSE Advisor is a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and stakeholders. As a Construction HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and providing training and guidance to site leadership and workers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Provide training and guidance to site leadership and workers on safety procedures and protocols.
- Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with site leadership and workers to develop and implement safety plans and procedures.
- Monitor and report on safety performance metrics to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders to stay up-to-date on safety regulations and best practices.
Requirements
- OH&S diploma or equivalent, CRSP would be considered an asset with at least three (3) years construction industry experience.
- Minimum five (5) years as NCSO with relevant experience.
- Current Class 5 Driver's License and Driver's Abstract.
- Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol test is required.
- CSTS 2020
- Certifications required for the work being performed (Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform, and Confined Space Entry & Monitor, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Expertise in software relevant to the role will be considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of investigation techniques (i.e., Taproot)
- Basic auditing techniques (i.e., Core / ISO)
- Effective oral and written communication skills and good comprehension.
Working Conditions
The incumbent is required to work from the site trailers in an office and field environment with moderate noise. The job may require the incumbent to walk stairs, climb ladders, work at heights and in confined spaces; be outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold); carrying objects, driving, and being exposed to normal office and field routines. This position will have also access to Owner provided camp facilities.
Physical Requirements
The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time and will require good physical attributes for walking on uneven ground, climbing, confined space entry, limited lifting, and sitting.
