Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Paladin Security. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients and their properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrols and Surveillance: Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols to prevent and respond to incidents.
  • Incident Response: Respond to incidents in a timely and professional manner, ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Accurately document incidents and submit reports as required.
  • Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations into routine incidents, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as necessary.
  • De-escalation Techniques: Utilize de-escalation techniques to resolve situations involving conflict, aggression, or other challenging behaviors.
  • Access Control: Monitor and control access to buildings and properties, ensuring only authorized individuals enter.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide assistance as needed.
  • Communication: Liaise with emergency responders, clients, and management to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Surveillance Monitoring: Monitor surveillance systems to detect and prevent potential security threats.
  • Patient Watches: Conduct regular checks on patients or individuals in need of supervision.
  • Intervention: Intervene in situations as necessary, using verbal and physical intervention techniques to de-escalate conflicts.

Requirements:

  • Security Experience: At least 1 year of security experience, preferably in a healthcare or related setting.
  • Security License: Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • First Aid and CPR: Valid First Aid and CPR - Level C certification from a WSIB-approved vendor.
  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Healthcare Experience: Priority will be given to candidates with experience working in healthcare and mental health settings.
  • Certifications: Successful completion of the following certifications: Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB), Use of Force (UoF), and Baton.
  • Physical Demands: Moderate physical activity, including standing and walking for extended periods in various weather conditions.
