Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Media Relations Specialist to join our Corporate Communications team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing company-wide media relations for the Media Relations Centre of Excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Media Relations: Build and manage media relationships, identify opportunities, and develop plans to drive positive earned media coverage for Rogers across traditional, digital, and social channels.
  • Research and Analysis: Dig in and research media requests working collaboratively with business and company function leads.
  • Brief Development: Develop briefs and strategic messaging in response to issues and media requests, distilling complex information into simple terms.
  • Industry Monitoring: Proactively monitor media outlets, understand industry issues, competitor activity, and analyze and distill meaningful insights from media coverage.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build trusted relationships with team members and key internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 7+ years' experience working in Corporate Communications.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, political science, journalism, or related field.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of overall media and digital media landscape, excellent research, analytical, writing, and verbal communications skills, strong project management and organization skills, results-driven, creative and collaborative team member who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year.

  • Work Environment: Hybrid work arrangement with three days per week in office.
